From Mount's Last trip

 

 

 

-Way to big

-Overall building huge, neighborhoods small

-Lodge was nice

-Wonderful, greenery

-Big

-Clean home atmosphere

-Coffee smell

-Piano to one side

-Neighborhoods gave an impression

-Walk in more like a community

-Homey

-Shops were nice

-Lobby look like apartment building

-Mailboxes were a hit

-Not real excited vibes when walked in

-We can give more of a homey feeling here

-Carpet on floors

-Smelled of urine a few times

-Carpet everywhere but bathrooms?

-Don’t go high end of carpet….5 years max use of carpet

-Carpet in patient rooms if it could stay clean

-Good idea to let residents cook if they want to

-Stove (household) , fridge, dishwasher (commercial)

-Coffee pots regulated temp for coffee

-Liked juice center, coffee, hot chocolate, yet some felt like it was not more like home

-Just bring pitchers of juice out

-Little sinks for washing hands in neighborhoods

-Chapel so calming and peaceful….camera hooked up so residents could watch services in rooms

-Calmness in chapel

-Alarm on cat to make sure it can’t piddle in chapel

-Like little chapel off big chapel

-Artwork

-Color schemes very well liked

-We have problem with cats and allergies

-Maybe we could have more fish tanks

-Their surrounding pet shop furnishes fish

-Getting round tables?

-Plus round tables take up less room

-Liked black and white pictures of residents

-Almost like art gallery

-Maybe a community art show

-Front wheels on chairs in dining room

-Pictures with names on them with permission of residents

-Liked the resident mailboxes outside the doors

-Doorbells on rooms

-Mailbox? Some not able to read, some not able to reach

-Not having door way into dining room

-Activities in PT along with dining area for residents if they want it

-Areas where people who want to go to church can go to church and those that want to watch the ball game can watch a game

-In rehab they had a quiet room where residents could do their own activities

-Each neighborhood had their own flavor

-Multi-purpose areas

-Nurses stations were not totally open

-Nurses stations was own area

-Neighborhoods had own distinct areas

-Enter disciplinary area, which was not my job, everyone pitched in

-Cross training

-Where ones can just slip in

-Think we should job swap

-Work areas has access to do what they needed

-Large rooms, and open with great light

-Pets can roam around

-Laundry would do personal laundry

-Didn’t get much out of residents

-Yet some residents said it was great

-Retired history teacher, liked to be home, other then that they do good

-Guy popped up during the trivia and said “who the hell cares?”

-Residents rooms had more drawers, shelves, closet space

-Shelf for neck protectors right in the room

-Local prisoners made all cabinets for The Mount

-Like armoire

-One side to hang other side to hang and at the bottom

-Long skinny drawers

-Bedside tables all had locks

-Matching curtains, and bedspreads

-All their own furniture in assisted living

-Liked idea of kitchenette

-Want windows that open into dayroom

-L shape nurses station kitchen area

-Wall at nurses station out

-Staff did not like tablecloths

-If curtains open and fall

-Our tracks are ugly

-The pull strings don’t work

-Maybe move personal laundry in hair care, move to dirty utility

-New bed sides stands

-Open hair care with sign beauty and barber with big window awning and barber pole

-Would like eating nooks

-Liked the soda shop idea

-Incorporate some type of business inside

-Have own latte shop/gift shop with area

-How receptive they were to touring

-Impressed with staff

-No negative ness

-Administrator said she stayed over to shower

-Great experience

-Life care, Veteran’s home, Royal Plaza, Regency (huge and big) have residents view

-FOOD:

-I like food in steam tables

-Get steam table system done with choices

-Can microwave and stick food away for later

-Sneeze guard in cafeteria

-No complaints about food

-Enjoyed,

-Not far for us

-Attitude needs to change

-Take time……stop…..just do it

-Need to refocus on little things not just job

-Cross training was very important

-Appreciate fact that was non smoking facility

-No intercom going off every 5 minutes, very peaceful

-Charting by exception
