Everyone works toward a shared goal

§         Go for Bull’s Eye

Values guide all plans, decisions, and actions

§         Values guide behavior

§         Everyone can make a difference in their life and everyone else’s life

 

Way of Beaver:

In control of achieving the goal

Who’s in charge?

§         Beavers are independent contractors

o       In control of achieving goal

§         Make difference

§         Take control of job

A playing field with clearly marked territory

§         The boundaries are goals and values

§         To give people control of their territory

Those who are truly in control work for that …..

§         They become cheerleaders for the organization

                                    Able but challenged

§         Help people win

§         Coach Them

§         Lead Them

Moderately different but achievable goal

 

The Way of the Squirrel and the Way of the Beaver spark the organization.  The Gift of the Goose ignites to it or adds to the flame

 

Gift of Goose:

            Cheering each other on

1.)   Catch someone doing something right

a.      Do you want it to work

2.)   No score, no game, and cheer the progress

a.      Know clearly what you need to do

b.      Praise progress

3.)   E=MC2

a.      Enthusiasm=mission x cash and congratulations

b.      Wall of fame with stories of what people are doing right

 

Going the worthwhile work, the right way, with the cheering around you

 

You have to let people’s lights shine

 

“Caught Caring” is like the eagle’s nest syndrome where you show off people doing good
